Scripture:
“Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.” – Psalm 91:3 (KJV)
Devotional Reading:
We are stepping into October with a covenant assurance: God is our Deliverer from the noisome pestilence. The word “noisome” means harmful, deadly, and destructive. Pestilence represents diseases, afflictions, sudden calamities, or hidden attacks that can ruin a person’s life. But God says, “Surely” – not maybe, not perhaps, but surely He will deliver you!
Think about Daniel in the lions’ den (Daniel 6). To Daniel, the lions represented noisome pestilence, hungry mouths waiting to devour him. But God shut the lions’ mouths, and Daniel came out unhurt. Likewise, in our day, pestilence can appear as strange sickness, sudden financial losses, spiritual battles, or household attacks—but God’s promise is certain: He will deliver you!
Beloved, enter this new month with faith. No matter the schemes of the enemy or arrows flying at you, God has guaranteed your deliverance. Lift your head high—you are too covered to be wasted.
