Scripture:
“So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men. And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand.” – 2 Samuel 24:15–16 (KJV)
Devotional Reading:
When David sinned by numbering Israel, pestilence broke out and thousands perished. Yet in the midst of judgment, God’s mercy spoke. He commanded the destroying angel to stop: “It is enough.” This reveals something profound—pestilence has a limit when mercy speaks.
Many times in life, you may see patterns of destruction—sickness repeating in families, financial calamities, strange accidents. These are like pestilences sweeping through. But God’s mercy can halt it, saying, “It is enough.” Just like David offered sacrifices and built an altar, Christ became our sacrifice, and His blood speaks better things (Hebrews 12:24).
No matter the plague moving in the land, no matter the destruction threatening your home, God’s mercy can step in and say, “No further!”
Prayer:
👉 FATHER, LET YOUR MERCY SPEAK FOR ME AND COMMAND EVERY PESTILENCE IN MY LIFE TO STOP, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
