Scripture:
“In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword. Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.” – Job 5:20–21 (KJV)
Devotional Reading:
Job’s friend spoke a truth about God’s preservation power: He delivers in famine and protects from destruction. Pestilence often comes with famine—scarcity of food, joy, peace, or resources. Yet God promises to redeem His children from both famine and death.
Think about Elijah in 1 Kings 17. During famine, God fed him by ravens. Later, He sustained the widow of Zarephath, making her flour and oil never run dry. While famine consumed the land, covenant children were preserved. Pestilence brings fear, but faith in God brings security.
Beloved, while the world fears inflation, scarcity, and calamity, you must stand on God’s word: you are exempted. He will redeem you in famine and shield you from destruction.
Prayer:
👉 FATHER, REDEEM ME FROM FAMINE AND DELIVER ME FROM DESTRUCTION IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
